10 Elections in League City, food for thought
Pat Hallisey
Very few people have the personal resources to run for public office. I
would be leery of those who tout themselves as so self sufficient.
If it is not important to get their campaign issues out there then why are
they running?
Don’t the other 90-97% of registered voters have a right to know what a
candidate is about?
This election is not about how few people you can get to participate, it’s
about how many.
I always get a bit mused when I see the big bad developers line being used
to smear a candidate.
I can tell you from many years of sticking my neck out to run for public
office, I was only asked one thing by development interests.
"Please stand for good government" "If we know the rules then we can get our
business done in an efficient manner, a fluid government that does not
follow its own rules and plays personal political games cost us a lot of
money and consequently makes the cost of our product more expensive for the
end user. That would be future Citizens.

League City. NO proof just a suspicion.
Transparency in Government begins with campaign contributions. Made from
personal accounts or solicited.
My experience is that do gooders who act, to holy, usually are not that
efficient or good public officials.
Its a tough game and staying focused is not about whether a developer
contributes to your campaign. It is about your moral fiber, vision,
principals and doing the right things for the right reasons.
My guess is, even though I have early Alzheimer’s, that the self righteous
are asking for money as well, they are just hiding it.
Voter beware, if it sounds too good to be true it usually
