Keels & Wheels Concous d’Elegance - Clear Lake Area
Thousands of visitors were greeted by an awesome collection of beautiful cars,
sitting under a canopy of trees, along the entrance to Lakewood Yacht Club.
Strolling the grounds, were car collectors from around the United States and
Europe, some were here to sell and some where here to buy and some were just
enjoying the opportunity to show off their pieces of art.
One, of the many featured cars, was a 1928 Cadillac sedan, once owned by Al
Capone. Mr. Capone added the bullet proof glass and steel platting and even had
the automobile painted black and green, the same color as the law enforcement
vehicles of that era.
In the harbor, there were close to a hundred boats on display, each unique in
one fashion or another. One of these was the Finale, a 1965 Chris Craft, owned
by Patsy and Jim Snell of Port Arthur. Regardless of her age, this is a
beautiful vessel.
Listen in as owners and collectors or these beautiful cars and boats tell Talk
of the Bay about their pride and joy. On Sunday, we were treated to a
re-enactment of Tora, Tora, Tora. The plane engines above roared as the machine
guns blasted away. CHECK
