LCPOA PAC endorsements
by Sean Arena
The League City Police Officers Association Political Action Committee (LCPOA
PAC) represents the interests of over 100 men and women in uniform city
wide, and includes both sworn and civilian police department employees.
Recently the LCPOA PAC made its endorsements for the May 10th municipal
election in League City.
The endorsements came after all candidates submitted their answers to the
2008 LCPOA PAC questionnaire and after all candidates spoke to a general
membership meeting of the League City Police Officers Association.
The LCPOA PAC endorsements were based on a series of factors, not the least
of which was a proven history of supporting the issues that are important to
our rank and file members and a firm commitment moving forward to open and
transparent communication between the city and the LCPOA during the Meet and
Confer process, and those candidates who expressed support for a
collaborative approach to labor/management issues within the League City
Police Department rather than a confrontational one.
It is our strong belief that the members of the League City Police Officers
Association play a large and significant role in maintaining the high
quality of life the citizens of League City expect and demand; our
endorsements reflect the candidates that we believe best share this core
belief.
We would like to urge our friends, families, supporters, retirees, and
fellow brother and sister police officers in League City to back the
candidates that back the blue and vote for the following candidates in the
2008 General Election:
Mayor – Chris Mallios
City Council, Position #1 – Councilman Tad Nelson
City Council, Position #2 – Councilman Mike Barber
Sincerely, Sean Arena, President League Police Officers Association PAC
