 Wednesday May 14

HOUSTON SYMPHONY LEAGUE BAY AREA

Tables will be set for lunch at Lakewood Yacht Club, 2425 NASA Pkwy, on Wednesday May 14, when HSLBA will hold its last meeting of this 31st season.

There will be a short business meeting at 10 AM, musical entertainment, and lunch for those who have ordered it. There will be seating for those who do not plan to stay for lunch. HSLBA welcomes guests at its meetings.

Brian Buffaloe, orchestra director at Clear Lake H. S., will bring some of his musicians, who also play in the Bay Area Youth Symphony, to play for us. Two years ago, when Mr. Buffaloe brought young musicians to entertain us, BAYS was just forming. Now, there are two BAYS full orchestras, a preparatory string ensemble and a string ensemble for elementary school children. Students of all age levels earn placement in the orchestras by audition.

Brian Buffaloe is executive director-manager of BAYS, a non-profit organization. Penelope Meitz conducts the BAYS Symphony. Lisa Black conducts the BAYS Philharmonic. Kysha Bradshaw conducts the Preparatory string group. The BAYS orchestra has performed three public concerts, and will perform its fourth concert on May 18 at Gloria Dei Church, Nassau Bay.
