Noted philosophy prof to speak at UH-Clear
Lake

HOUSTON, — University of Houston-Clear Lake invites area students, teachers
and friends to hear renowned University of Dallas Professor of Philosophy
Robert E. Wood present “Philosophy, Aesthetics, and the Art of the World”
Thursday, April 3, 7–9:50 p.m., in the university’s Bayou Building Atrium I,
2700 Bay Area Blvd., Houston.
“Dr. Wood is a well-known specialist in the history of philosophy and
aesthetics,” said Assistant Professor of Humanities Daniel Silvermintz. “His
lecture promises to be very enlightening.”
Wood has published more than 50 scholarly articles on the history of
philosophy, as well as three books including “A Path into Metaphysics:
Phenomenological Hermeneutical and Dialogical Studies” and “Placing
Aesthetics: Studies in the Philosophic Tradition.” His lecture will begin
with a discussion of the philosophy of art and then go on to a consideration
of art from various non-western cultures.
