HOUSTON, — University of Houston-Clear Lake invites area students, teachers and friends to hear renowned University of Dallas Professor of Philosophy Robert E. Wood present “Philosophy, Aesthetics, and the Art of the World” Thursday, April 3, 7–9:50 p.m., in the university’s Bayou Building Atrium I, 2700 Bay Area Blvd., Houston.

“Dr. Wood is a well-known specialist in the history of philosophy and aesthetics,” said Assistant Professor of Humanities Daniel Silvermintz. “His lecture promises to be very enlightening.”

Wood has published more than 50 scholarly articles on the history of philosophy, as well as three books including “A Path into Metaphysics: Phenomenological Hermeneutical and Dialogical Studies” and “Placing Aesthetics: Studies in the Philosophic Tradition.” His lecture will begin with a discussion of the philosophy of art and then go on to a consideration of art from various non-western cultures.

Admission to the event is free. For more information, e-mail Silvermintz, silvermintz@uhcl.edu, or call 281-283-3326.
