Long time League City resident, Neil Baron,
is seeking election for City Council Position No. 1.
Mr. Baron has lived in League City with his wife, Stephanie, since 1992. Mr.
Baron owns and operates his own law practice and spends some of his spare
time refereeing high school basketball in Galveston and Harris County and
serving on the Board of Directors of the Houston Chapter of Texas
Association of Sports Officials.
Mr. Baron graduated from Georgetown University in Washington, D.C., and
earned his law degree at University of Houston in 1986. Among other things
Mr. Baron previously served as the chairman of the Galveston County
Grievance Committee enforcing and investigating ethical complaints filed by
members of the public against other lawyers.
“We must restore trust in our city government and change the direction of
this city now” Baron said. “We need to make real ethics reform an immediate
priority and we must stop allowing our elected officials to discuss and vote
on projects that benefit their major campaign contributors.” “We need to
control residential growth and return fiscal responsibility to our city
government now. “Big ticket spending items such as the proposed east side
aquatic center and the multi-million dollar sewage treatment facility
upgrades should be decided by the voters.” “I believe that I have the
business experience and the ability to work professionally with others that
we need to make League City the best city in Texas.”
