INVITATIONAL GOLF CLASSIC BENFITING THE GALVESTON SHRINERS HOSPITAL FOR
CHILDREN
Last year was a record setting year for our group. We gave the Shriners
Hospitals for Children-Galveston checks totaling over $135,000. Since our
inception, our total contributions to this charity now exceeds $389,000. Our
goal this year is to set yet another record and we are proud to continue our
charity work for the Shriners Hospitals for Children-Galveston.
We salute our past participants and sponsors in recognizing the Shriners and
what they have accomplished for our industry and our community. Our
challenge for the coming year is to contribute $150,000!! It’s a lofty goal,
but we intend to reach it.
Last year, we made improvements to our event with increased emphasis on the
silent and live auction items at the Friday night party. We would appreciate
each of you considering donating an item for the auction this year. If you
would like to donate to the auction, please contact Jan Miller or another
board member as soon as possible. The auction is an excellent way to
contribute directly to the Shriners and also take advantage of some
wonderful items to purchase and enjoy. And this year, we will have more
silent auction items that are appealing to the wives or significant others
of those who participate in our annual event. Bring your check book or your
credit card to the Friday night party. All auction items purchased will be
made payable directly to the Shriners Hospital. We look forward to seeing
you soon.
TOURNAMENT ACTIVITIES-2008
Friday’s format will be play your own ball, and Saturday will be a FOUR
PERSON SCRAMBLE. Friday will be a 8:00 AM shotgun start and Saturday will be
a 1:00 PM shotgun start. All golf will be held at the Galveston Country Club
golf course which is located at 14228 Stewart Road, Galveston, Texas 77554.
The entry fee is $400 per player NOTE: If you have an invited client guest,
you will be paired together both days. Entry fee includes two days of golf
with cart, range balls, a gift for your significant other, Friday night Hors
d’oeuvres party (adults only please), and a Saturday night dinner for the
entire family. Also, we will have silent auction during the Friday night
party.
The 2008 invitation list will be limited. WE MUST RECEIVE YOUR ENTRY FORM
(ATTACHED) COMPLETE WITH CHECK BY APRIL 15 IN ORDER TO GUARANTEE YOUR SPOT
IN THE TOURNAMENT. The maximum number of entries will be 144 and this
invitation is NOT transferable to any other individual. However, we
encourage you as recipient of this invitation to invite a client guest.
An order form is also enclosed for those interested in ordering a shirt.
Special hotel rates have once again been arranged at the Galveston Island
Hilton, 5400 Seawall Blvd., Galveston, Texas. Rates are $118/night single or
double occupancy. To make your reservations, please call 409-744-5000. A
limited number of rooms have been blocked and we encourage you to make your
reservations early. Please mention the Gulf Coast Oilman’s Invitational
Classic when making your reservation.

The 18th annual Gulf Coast Oilman’s Invitational Golf Classic (GCOI) is
scheduled for May 16 and 17, 2008 in Galveston. We are proud to say that the
2007 GCOI was a record success and we gave the Shriners Hospital for
Children-Galveston a contribution of over $135,000. Our cumulative
contribution to this most worthy cause is in excess of $389,000.
This year, your board has set another lofty goal of increasing our
contribution to the Shriners and with a target amount of $150,000. To
accomplish this, we are offering five types of sponsorships: Corporate
Sponsorship, Platinum, Gold, Silver, and Bronze.
The Corporate Tournament Sponsorship is $5000 and will receive name
recognition as the primary sponsor(s), up to four $50 discounts off the
regular entry fee of $400, and choice of 2 holes for company signage. The
Platinum package is $1,000 and entitles you up to four $50 discounts off the
regular entry fee of $400 and choice of 2 holes for company signage. The
Gold package is $500 and entitles you with two $50 discounts off the regular
entry fee of $400. The Silver package is $400 and entitles you with one $50
discount off the regular entry fee of $400. The Bronze package is $250 and
provides your company with continuous advertisement. Sponsorship checks are
to be made payable directly Shriners Hospitals for Children-Galveston or by
credit card. See attached form.
To accomplish our goal, we need your support as a TOURNAMENT SPONSOR. The
real winner remains Shriners Hospitals for Children-Galveston. We salute our
past participants and sponsors in recognizing the Shriners and what they
have accomplished for our industry and our community.
To our past participants and sponsors we say THANK YOU and hope that you
will join our efforts in ensuring that this event continues to be a success
in our industry.
Your sponsorship will bring constant advertising for your company to all who
attend. We have several events planned to include not only the golf, but
parties on Friday and Saturday nights. At each location and event, we have a
banner that will prominently display the names of our sponsors.
