CLEAR LAKE GREEK FESTIVAL 2008
The Clear Lake Greek Festival of 2008, sponsored by St. John the Theologian
Greek Orthodox Church of Webster, Texas, will be held on Friday, Saturday
and Sunday, May 9,10, and 11, at Clear Lake Park (Landolt Pavilion) located
approximately 5 miles east of I-45 on NASA Parkway. Because of construction
at the NASA Parkway, I-45 interchange, it is recommended that you take the
Bay Area Blvd exit and go east on Bay Area Blvd. to Space Center. Turn right
on Space Center and drive until it ends at NASA Parkway. Turn left on NASA
Parkway. The Clear Lake Park will be located on your left.
Traditional Greek foods will be available including pastitsio, Greek style
chicken, souvalki and specialties, such as spanapkopita, tiropita, dolmathes,
Greek salad and the famous gyro. For dessert there will be tratiditional
Greek pastries, loukamathes, and ice cream.
A variety of Gift Shops will display imported items and collectibles along
with designer gold and silver Greek jewelry. The Agora (Market) will offer
imported items such as olive oil, calamata olives, feta cheese, etc.
For kids there will be a variety of activities.
Continuous music and dancing to Greek folk dances will be provided by our
local, and Houston dance troupes. Audience participation is encouraged.
On Sunday, mothers bringing children will be admitted free.
