Tattoo artists exhibit art work
Experience fine art from the perspective of the nation’s top tattoo artists
during University of Houston-Clear Lake’s “Artists of Permanence: The Fine
Art of the Tattooist” exhibit in the Art Gallery, Jan. 28 – March 14.
Featuring the paintings, drawings, sculptures and ceramic works of local and
national tattoo artists, the exhibit was inspired by Assistant Professor of
Applied Design and Graphic Arts Matthew Linton’s interest in looking at
another form of tattooists’ art work.
The Art Gallery is located on the first floor of the university’s Bayou
Building, 2700 Bay Area Blvd., Houston. Hours for the gallery are Monday
through Thursday, 9 a.m. – 6 p.m., and Friday, 9 a.m. – noon. A special
opening reception for the exhibit will be held Jan. 31, 5:30 – 8 p.m.
Admission is free. For more information, call Linton, 281-283-3379, or
