Starlight Starbright Style Show – Thursday, April 10
– Friendswood
Elvis is alive and he performed at Hope Village! That’s right, The Starlight
Starbright Style Show, at Hope Village, started off with a very special
rendition of Blue Suede Shoes by Mike Pennington. And, as it should be, the
ladies were screaming for Elvis. Between Elvis, the wine, the wonderful lunch,
and the enthusiastic guests, I knew this was going to be a fun time.
A spontaneous and unspoken challenge between several of the tables got the party
rolling. Ann Hacker and the League City bunch made themselves known, right from
the get go, with their angel wings and hand clappers, Teri Goodman and the
Friendswood gang jumped right in and Kevin Venable was literally tooting his own
horn, LOUDLY. The fun and rowdy enthusiasm peaked as the lovely models made
their way down the runway.
The Hope Village Tea Room was filled with wonderful fashions from Jill’s
Fashions and Bridal, The Clothes-horse and the Hope Village Resale Shop.
Everything, from casual wear to evening gowns, was on the catwalk. Models,
selected from the bay area, pranced and posed on the runway, obviously each of
them having grand time and enjoying themselves. And to make things even more
delicious there was some lovely jewelry, handbags and lots of ‘bling’ available
for purchase before and after the style show.
Listen in as some of the guests, models and Heather Fischer, the Director of
Community Development, speak with
Talk of the
Bay.
The money raised from the style show will enrich the lives of the villagers
living at Hope Village. What a great way to have fun and brighten someone else’s
life at the same time.
