Rosenberg Library and Museum -
Galveston
Opening in 1904, the Rosenberg Library is the oldest public library in Texas, in
continuous operation. Led by the board of directors, the first librarian, Frank
C. Pattenqv (librarian from 1904 to 1934), initiated several programs that
emphasized community involvement.
The Rosenberg Library and Museum holds the bragging rights to having one of the
top four collections of Texas History artifacts. Listen in as Eleanor Clark,
